Together we

  • Believe physical activity and play positively affect mental and emotional well-being and team unity

  • Emphasize relational skills and effective communication

  • Value connection, growth, and trust

  • Love training partner acrobatics anytime, anywhere!

Our experiences with Acro have made us better athletes, teammates, partners, and coaches. They’ve helped us to develop interpersonal skills and personal awareness that make our lives richer and more fulfilling. We never imagined that something so fun and at times silly could simultaneously be so beneficial and transformative. We’re hopeful that our decision to turn our play into our work can help make your work a little more playful!

Nate Rieder

I’ve loved athletics and movement from a young age. While I always excelled in the classroom, I could frequently be found running around, playing sports, or climbing trees (and anything else that looked vaguely climbable). However, it wasn’t until I was sidelined by illness for much of high school that I realized how vital my physical pursuits were to my overall mental health and well-being.

While earning my Bachelors in Psychology at the University of Southern California, I discovered my passions for teaching and volunteering and began to figure out how to combine them with my newly rediscovered passion for exercise.

Upon moving back to Philadelphia after college, I began working as an SAT tutor and coaching fitness classes. Eventually I found a perfect fit for my dual passions in serving as the Director of Academics for a non-profit that helps student athletes from underserved communities prepare for and navigate the college admissions process. I was finally able to teach and coach in one setting while helping students leverage their passion for athletics to further their education and better their futures.

Years later, when I discovered my love for Partner Acrobatics, another piece clicked into place. I began to realize that my enthusiasm about Acro stemmed not just from the joys of the activity, but from the depth of connection it fostered and the quality of the relationships it helped build. I saw how it unites people through play and exploration in pursuit of shared goals, and in doing so cuts through the superficial to highlight our strengths, weaknesses, fears, and motivations. Succeeding (not always defined as completing the task at hand) depends on cooperation, commitment, trust, and communication.

I’m incredibly grateful that I’m now able to share what I’ve learned in order to improve workplace dynamics and facilitate team growth!

Growing up a competitive gymnast while also focusing heavily on academics, I have always appreciated the balance between physical and intellectual exertion. While completing my degree in Neuroscience and German at Northwestern University, I coached children's gymnastics at a community center to stay active and fulfilled. During my time in Germany on a Fulbright Scholarship teaching English as a Second Language, I made it a priority to find a gym to continue with my gymnastics; and that's where I was introduced to my new (and current) passions of partner acrobatics and handbalancing.

The following decade consisted of teaching middle school during the day and training and teaching acrobatics at night. I loved being in the classroom and I loved being in the gym. Outside of experiencing the benefits of this balance in my own life, I noticed how much better my students learned when the subject was met with fun and joy and movement. The ability to work AND play made all the difference; and that's when Nate and I began our journey of creating Collaborative Kinesthetics.

I'm overjoyed to bring my passion for movement and building positive relationships into the workplace, encouraging the importance and positives of seeking balance in our lives. I can't wait to meet you!
